The Nasarawa State High Court 2 sitting in Lafia has sentenced to death Oluwatimileyin Ajayi for killing his girlfriend, Salome Adaidu.
The convict killed Adaidu, his girlfriend, a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and dismembered her body.

He noted that as Counsels they will be waiting to hear from the convict and members of his family on whether to appeal the judgment or otherwise.
In his reaction, Prosecuting Counsel Raymond Umaru, commended the court for upholding justice and enforcing the law.
The Prosecuting Counsel said the convict has 90 days to appeal the judgment.
He explained that if the convict fails to appeal within the stipulated time the state ministry of Justice would recommend to Governor Abdullahi Sule to sign the death warrant.
Also reacting, Samson Adaidu, an uncle to the deceased expressed satisfaction with the judgment and thanked Nigerians for their support throughout the trial.
It would be recalled that the convict was arrested by churchgoers on Sunday, January 12, 2024, in Orozo, a community bordering the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and the state carrying a polybag containing the head of the deceased.
