The International Press Institute, Nigeria chapter, has inaugurated four committees tasking them to raise the standard of press freedom and independent journalism practice in Nigeria and globally.
The inauguration was held in Abuja on Saturday, April 26, supervised by the President, Musikilu Mojeed, Secretary, Ahmed Shekarau and the Deputy President, Fidelis Mbah.
It was conducted with members attending physically and via zoom from different cities in the country.
The committee membership include the following:
The Fund Raising Committee is chaired by a former President of the Nigeria Guild of Editors, Mrs Funke Egbemode, while the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mal. Mohammed Idris Malagi is a member. Other members include Juliet Bumah, Mal. Garba Shehu, Ken Ugbechie, Victoria Ibanga, Yusuf Alli, Funke Fadugba,
Gbemiga Ogunleye and the Administrative Secretary of IPI Nigeria, Linda Kpum.
The Programming committee has Oladotun Oladipo as chairman. Other members include Zainab Suleiman Okino, Dayo Aiyetan, Hajia Sani (Sec), Ahmed I. Shekarau, Emma Agu, Catherine Agbo, Yewande Iwoha, Shola Oshunkeye and the IPI Administrative Secretary.
The Advocacy Committee is chaired by Tobi Soniyi while Ochiaka Ugwu is Secretary. Other members are Danlami Nmodu, Olaide Abbas,
David Ajikobi, Fred Ohwahwa, Prof. Sule Ya’u Sule, Dr. Hammeed Mamman Bello and the IPI Administrative Secretary.

Professional Conduct Committee is chaired by Dr Ruqayyah Aliyu, while Linda Dooyum Kpum is Secretary. Other members are Fidelis Mbah, Naziru Mikailu Abubakar, Bolanle Ismail and Aliu Akoshile.
