In Yobe State, Governor Mai Mala Buni has become a symbol of support and care for vulnerable groups within the community. From civil servants to People Living with Disabilities, the weak, indigent families, and recently, orphans, his initiatives have significantly impacted the lives of many.

Supporting the people with Palliatives:
After series of interventions supporting the people with food items to cushion the effects of the economic hardships, Governor Buni recently launched a massive intervention of distribution of 50,000 bags of assorted food items including rice, maiza, sorghum and wheat.
A total of 120,000 households were provided with the food items.

Ramadan Feeding Program: Nourishing the Needy

During the holy month of Ramadan, Governor Buni’s administration launched a commendable initiative to provide free meals in 84 feeding centers across the state to provide free meals to those in need. This program reached numerous beneficiaries across the state, easing the burden of fasting for many. Recipients expressed gratitude for the assistance, stating that it enabled them to observe Ramadan more comfortably. For instance, Malam Usman shared how the daily provision of food helped him break his fast and sustain himself during the fasting period.

Support for Civil Servants and Pensioners: Alleviating Financial Strain. Governor Buni has consistently prioritized the welfare of civil servants and pensioners in Yobe State. Through the allocation of substantial funds totaling N4.1 billion, the government offers monthly bonuses and ensures timely payment of gratuity to retired workers. This financial assistance serves to ease the economic challenges faced by these individuals and retirees, providing them with greater stability and security.

Additional Bonus for Eid Celebrations:

Spreading Joy Among Workers. In anticipation of the Eid celebration, Governor Buni has extended further support to civil servants and pensioners by approving an additional bonus. This gesture, amounting to almost N696 million, is aimed at enhancing the festive experience for recipients and underscored the government’s commitment to their well-being. By recognizing and addressing the needs of its workforce, the administration fosters a sense of appreciation and solidarity within the community.

Empowering Orphans : A New Focus on Vulnerable Children

Recent efforts by Governor Buni’s administration have also been directed towards supporting orphaned children in the state. Initiatives aimed at providing care, education, and opportunities for orphans reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being and future prospects of these vulnerable members of society.
Ahead of the Id-el-fitr sallah celebration, Governor Buni reached out to 1,000 orphans across the state with N50,000 each to get new clothes and celebrate the Sallah with a sense of belonging and dignity.

In summary, Governor Mai Mala Buni’s unwavering dedication to supporting civil servants, vulnerable individuals, and orphans underscores his commitment to inclusive governance and social welfare in Yobe State. Through targeted programs and initiatives, his administration continues to make meaningful strides towards uplifting the lives of all residents, fostering a more resilient and equitable society.
