Fubara’s group  debunks rumour of his plan to resign

From Victor Edozie, Port Harcourt
The Enforcers of Good Governance (EGG)—a  socio-political grassroots pressure group committed to promoting credible leadership and canvassing massive support for the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has debunked the  rumours being peddled by those it described as political detractors suggesting that suspended governor is making plans to resign from office.
The group  in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Wednesday by its spokesman, Comrade Igwe Jefferson said it  consider the resignation rumour as nothing but the “premature ejaculation wish” of individuals and forces who do not mean well for Rivers State.
He said those behind the rumour are enemies of progress who  are merely attempting to divert attention from the harsh realities currently plaguing our dear state.
He said while the rumour mongers peddle fiction, the people of Rivers State are grappling with real issues:
“The collapse of economic activities across the state due to the political instability.
“The alarming sanitation crisis, where refuse now clogs major roads, posing health risks and painting Rivers State in shameful colours.
“Let it be made clear: Governor Siminalayi Fubara has no intention to resign. He remains committed to the mandate freely given to him by the people of Rivers State and has continued to show remarkable resilience in the face of undue pressure and political sabotage.
“Furthermore, the Enforcers of Good Governance just launched a robust door-to-door sensitization campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a move unveiled during our recently held expanded exco/stakeholders meeting. This initiative is in recognition of the numerous progressive policies rolled out by Mr. President—policies that have undeniably set Nigeria on the path of irreversible economic transformation.
“Finally, we appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR—as a father figure and democratic leader—to reconsider the state of emergency in Rivers State,” the group pointed out in the statement.
It  urged all Rivers people to remain steadfast, vigilant, and united saying that no  amount of propaganda can subvert the will of a determined people.
