The wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu on Tuesday donated one billion naira to victims of displaced community in Benue State, calling for an immediate end to the insecurity in the State.

Sen. Tinubu who made the donation during a sympathy visit to Makurdi, Benue State capital over the recent killing of more than 200 people in Yelwata, Guma local government area, emphasized the importance of peace and dialogue in addressing the violence that has affected the state for over a decade.
She sued for unity and solidarity among the people to combat the senseless killings that have continued to occur despite spirited efforts.
Senator Tinubu also, provided relief materials to help alleviate their suffering, pledging to continue supporting those in need, particularly children, girls, and individuals with disabilities.
The Paramount ruler of the Tiv nation and Chairman, Benue State Traditional Council Prof James Ayatse, urged the Federal Government to take action against terror groups operating in Benue and Nasarawa States.
He stressed the need for reconstruction of destroyed communities and compensation for victims of the attacks.
Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia reiterated his call for the establishment of a state police and a national policy on ranching to address the insecurity caused by herders.
He commended Senator Tinubu for her visit and commitment to national solidarity in the face of the ongoing crisis affecting over 1.5 million displaced individuals in Benue State.
