Billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote on Wednesday called on governments in Nigeria to prioritize local investors and investments to drive economic growth and development.
Speaking at the 2025 Taraba investment submit (TaraVest) in Jalingo, Dangote emphasized the importance of supporting domestic businesses and investments in infrastructure and core industries.
According to Dangote, local investors play a crucial role in attracting foreign investors.
“Let us support local investors and investments, Taraba State can unlock its economic potential and become a major player in the global economy.
“No foreign investor will come into a country where local businesses are not thriving. Foreigners are drowned to places with existing investment prospects.” He said.
Dangote also remarks that the need for governments to create an enabling environment for local businesses to flourish. By prioritizing local investors and investments, governments can create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and reduce poverty.
He noted that the local investors is expected to resonate with policymakers and business leaders, who are looking for ways to boost the economy and create opportunities for Nigerians.
