A Nasarawa State High Court sitting in Akwanga has sentenced one Gambo Adamu to death by hanging for murder in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The presiding judge of the Court, Justice Mustapha Ramat, handed the judgement in Akwanga.
Justice Ramat found the convict guilty of causing the death of one Hassan Ahmed in Akwanga by harvesting his organs.
Speaking shortly after the judgement, the state’s Attorney-General, Dr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji described the judgment as a victory for the people of the State and a deterrent to those who would engage in such nefarious activities.
According to him, the heinous crime committed by the convict earned him the death sentence.
The judgment, Magaji said is a testament to the judiciary commitment to justice and efforts to curb criminal tendencies.
