Benue State Government has vowed to clamp down hard on civil servants for truancy in 2025.

The State Commissioner for Communication and Digital Economy, Mr Amande kwaghgba said this on Monday in Makurdi, frowning at the high rate of truancy amongst civil servants.

Mr. Kwaghgba said from January 1st 2025, the State government will descend hard on civil for truancy, adding the measure is to ensure efficiency in the civil service.

He said, “Every civil servant must be at their duty post or face the consequences.

“Government has put in place machineries to monitor workers. No lukewarm attitude will be condoned anymore”., he warned sternly.

It should be noted that the state has prioritized the payment of salaries of workers and pensioners.
