Benue Deputy Speaker, Lami plans 2nd phase of 7-day free medical outreach for constituents

In a bid to provide essential healthcare services to those who reside in the grassroot, especially women, children and the aged, the Deputy Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Chief Mrs. Lami Danladi Ogenyi, has announced plans to organise another phase of medical outreach for her constituents in Ado LGA of the State.

The Deputy Speaker said the importance of health and well-being, stating that this broader outreach reflects her commitment to improving the quality of life for all constituents

The Ado lawmaker who disclosed this in a statement issued and made available to newsmen in Makurdi, Monday, by her Chief Press Secretary, Samuel Agbaji, said that the 7—Day free for all medical and surgical outreach for Ado residents, would be organised under her pet foundation, ‘Lami Health Foundation (LHF) from September 28 to October 4, 2025.

According to her, the fresh phase of the medical outreach is in furtherance to the already successfully concluded medical and surgical outreach held at Apa and Akpoge/Ogbilolo Council Wards where thousands of residents benefitted from various medical interventions.

She maintained that the outreach is thoughtfully designed to provide essential healthcare services to those who reside in the grassroot, especially women, children and the aged, ensuring access to medical consultations, screenings, and treatments.

Chief Ogenyi enjoined the local residents to take advantage of the opportunity to treat themselves of any ailment, which will feature a team of healthcare professionals offering their expertise.

The statement further announced the schedule of activities as follows; 28th–29th September, 2025: Primary Health Care Center, Ukwonyo Utonkon (For Ufia), on 30th September–1st October, 2025: RCM Primary School III (St. Mary), Camp 2 Igumale, while 2nd–3rd October, 2025 at Primary Health Care Center, Ijigban (For Ari) axis

Also, 4th October, 2025 would be for Mop-up Exercise, while the program will feature full Medical and Surgical Consultations, Full Medical Treatments and Interventions, Minor Surgical Interventions, (Wound dressings, lipoma removal, hydrocelectomy, Hernia repair.) and Free Follow up management.

Others are Screening for Hepatitis, HIV, Malaria, VDRL, amongst others, Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar Tests, Free Eye screening and Treatments, Distribution of delivery packs to expectant Mothers.
