The Kaduna State Police Command has reacted to an alleged assassination attempt on the Senator representing Kaduna Central District in the National Assembly, Adamu Usman Lawal, saying the allegations are unknown to the Command.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer PPRO of the Command, DSP Mansir Hassan and made available to the media in Kaduna today (Thursday), the Command stated that it has not received any formal complaint from the distinguished Senator, aside from the publication on social media, and that all efforts to contact him proved abortive.
The Police said the State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Rabi’u has therefore ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter.
The PRO added that the Kaduna State Police Command is commited to providing adequate security for all and sundry within the state.
It would be recalled that Senator Lawal Adamu Usman shared the alleged assassination attempt news on his Facebook page, stating, “I just escaped an assassination attempt by some thugs in Kaduna North.”
The senator stated that he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in northern Kaduna State.
“On Wednesday, January 1, at approximately 9:40 PM, the senator shared the news on his Facebook page, stating, ‘I just escaped an assassination attempt by some thugs in Kaduna North,’ the senator posted.
