Fifty eight Primary Healthcare Centres have been revitalized by the Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency ( NSPHCDA).
The Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr Usman Iskilu Saleh made this known while playing host to members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of NUJ, Nasarawa State in Lafia the state capital.
The Executive Secretary who said the state government will complete the revitalization of 58 health care facilities in the state by June this year, explained that the facilities revitalization will provide easy access to health care services and improve on the health status of the people of the state.
He said state government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Sule was committed to provision of quality healthcare service delivery to the people of the state.
“His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule is very committed, he is a selfless leader that has the health of the people of the state at his heart.
“We also have our partners such as World Bank among other partners. They have been supporting us to improve on the health status of our people.
“So far through the World Bank, the state government and other sources, we have what we called Impact Project being driven by the World Bank.
“So far, we have 58 facilities in Nasarawa State already commenced revitalization and it is expected to complete June this year.
“By June this year, by God’s grace, we will have 58 revitalize facilities in the state in order to boost the health status of our people, ” he said.
Saleh appreciated the members of the chapel for the visit and assured them of his leadership readiness to operate an open and all inclusive leadership.
He also charged the members of the chapel to organize medical outreach that would have direct health impacts on the people of the state.
The Executive Secretary assured the chapel of his support to the association to succeed.
Earlier, Isaac Ukpoju, the Chairman, Correspondents’ Chapel of NUJ Nasarawa State said that the visit was to congratulate the agency’s Executive Secretary over his appointment and wished him well.
” We are here basically to congratulate you on your appointment as the Executive Secretary of this agency.
” Your appointment did not come to us as a surprise due to your track records,” he said .
Ukpoju also assured the Executive Secretary of the association readiness to collaborate with the agency via effective publicity of the agency’s activities.
