From Divine Macaulay, in Kaduna

The Action Alliance (AA) has said said it has set machinery in motion to field viable candidates for the 2027 presidential election.

The party said it has already commenced strategies to ensure that it wins the next presidential election.
Rising from the South West zonal meeting of the party held at Ede in Osun State, the party said its resolve to commence early preparation for the 2027 election was to ensure victory in the polls

The National Chairman of the party, Hon Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, said the party has, through its think tank committee, commenced a rigorous search for its presidential candidate.

He said the search committee is likely going to come up with a technocrat from the South West geo-political zone as the party’s presidential candidate to give the incumbent President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a serious contest if he’s chosen as the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Omoaje said the party is prepared to challenge the APC and other political parties that will contest the presidential election come 2027, saying that the party is determined to wrestle power from the APC.

He berated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for disregarding court judgments by not upholding his name on the commission’s website despite the various court judgments that pronounced him the authentic national chairman of the party.
He said the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, has a penchant for abuse of court order and disrespect for the rule of law, adding that he has no confidence in INEC as presently constituted.

The AA leader said INEC, under Prof Mahmoud Yakubu, cannot conduct a credible election, having failed to respect court orders and various court judgments

He urged Nigerians to exercise patience and vote out the APC government which has brought untold hardship to the country.
