NSCDC arrests ex-convict, 2 others over theft of worship centres items in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defense Corps has arrested 3 suspects over alleged burgling of worship centres and stealing of amplifiers, batteries and microphones in different parts of the State.

Assistant Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mohammad Suraj made this known while parading the suspects in Lafia.
Parading the suspects before newsmen, the Command Assistant Public Relations Officer Suraj said the prime suspect Dauda Mohammed who is an ex-convict that served 2 years prison term in Umaisha Correctional centre has been on the trend of burgling worship centres particularly mosques and carting away items.
He said as a result of intelligence gathering and collaboration with the State Youth Security Outfit NAYEA, the command succeeded in apprehending the prime suspects Dauda Mohammed who is in the habit of visiting mosques to  steal items and sale to his waiting buyers.
He said the two other suspects Simeon Nwafor and Ibrahim Peter who were the buyers of the items are arrested after the prime suspects identified them at different locations of the state.
The Assistant PRO said the suspects would be charged to court after conclusion of investigation.
He maintained that the command would intensify efforts towards operations that would free society from crime.
On his part, the prime suspect Dauda Mohammed admitted committing the crime but attribute it to the economic hardship.
He pleaded for forgiveness and promised not to repeat the act.
