The remains of the late Hajia Maryam Is’haq Shugaba, mother of the Regional Editor of Citizenship Daily newspaper in charge of North West, Abdullahi Shugaba, have been laid to rest.

The late Hajia Maryam Shugaba was buried in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital on Monday, June 17, in accordance with Islamic tradition.

In a message to confirm the death, Abdullahi Shugaba wrote:

“I wish to  announce with a heavy heart the death of my Mother Hajiya Maryam Is’haq Shugaba, aged 103, which occurred on June 16, at about 6:00 pm.

“Her funeral will take place on Monday, June 17, 2024 according to Islamic rites by 9:00 am at her residence in lafia, Nasarawa State.

“She is survived by many children, grand and great grandchildren. We pray to Almighty Allah to grant her Aljanna Firdausi,” Abdullahi Shugaba said.

In a condolence message, the management of Citizenship Daily has commiserated with Shugaba on the death of his mother, and prayed to God for the repose of her soul.

The condolence noted that from God we all came, and to him we shall all return. It prayed to God to give the Shugaba family the strength and faith to bear the irreparable loss.
