The Nasarawa state command of the Nigeria Police has apprehended a suspected armed rubber and recovered firearms and ammunition.
In a statement by the command public relations officer Ramhan Nansel, the suspect was arrested was arrested in Karu local government area of the state.
The PPRO said the command “while acting on credible information about the movement of an armed robbery suspect responsible for series of armed robbery activities in Kabayi, Aso Pada and Mararaba general area of Karu Local Government Area, Police operatives attached to Mararaba ‘A’ Division created a stop and search point at Kabayi in order to check on the activities criminals in the area”
He said “the effort paid off when the suspect 26 years old David Samuel of Aso Pada was sighted by the operatives and arrested where one locally fabricated Barretta Pistol and one live ammunition were recovered from him”
He said the suspect has made useful statements and effort to trail and arrest other members of the syndicate is ongoing.
He noted that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada has ordered that the suspect be charged to court for prosecution when investigation is concluded.
