An Islamic cleric in Kaduna, Imam Muhammad Abdulnafiu, has called on the Muslim Umma to embrace the duty of compassion to one another.
He made the call while addressing a congregation of Muslim faithful at the Jama’atul Islamiya Jummaa’at Mosque, Nupe Road in Kaduna, today (Friday).
The Cleric, who spoke on the fundamental Islamic principle and the duty of caring for orphans, reminded the congregation of the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who emphasized the importance of supporting and nurturing those who have lost parental care.
He emphasized the need for Muslims to extend their help and compassion to those in need, particularly orphans.
The Imam applauded the recent efforts by the Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulamlik Sarkindaji, aimed at assisting to marry out orphaned women with their consent.
He further expressed concern over the actions of the Women Affairs Minister, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye for questioning the fairness of her approach.
The cleric addressed the discrepancies in the Minister’s actions, urging her to reconsider her stance in light of Islamic teachings on aiding the less fortunate.
Imam Abdulnafiu called on the Muslim community to exercise patience in the face of adversity, trusting in the divine promise of a positive outcome.
