Unknown gunmen, at about 9pm on Thursday, invaded the palace of the third class Chief of Sansanani in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, killing the traditional ruler, Alh. Abdullmutalib Jarkada.
Our correspondent also gathered that the gunmen while on their way from the palace, shot and broke the leg of a motorcyclist who ran into them while they were fleeing the area.
Although the details of the development remained sketchy as at the time of filing this report, the State government is yet to release an official statement regarding the killing.
Meanwhile, the deceased brother, Mr. Salihu Yusuf Sansanani who confirmed the incident Friday morning to our correspondent through phone calls described the murder of his late brother as shocking, unfortunate and indeed a great loss to the family.
“The Monarch was reportedly shot dead in his palace on Thursday night by some unknown gunmen, who also on their way shot and broke the leg of a motorcyclist,” he said.
