Yobe State Media Summit targets 400 youths for digital skills

The Yobe State Government has held a one-day media summit for 400 youths from the state’s 17 local government areas to develop their digital media and communication skills.

The summit, themed “Harnessing Digital Tools for Community Impact and Engagement,” took place on Saturday in Damaturu.

Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Abdullahi Bego, said the initiative would help youths navigate the changing digital media environment.

It brings together content creators and journalists to promote responsible communication.Speaking through Goje, Governor Buni urged participants to accurately communicate government policies, verify information and focus on the impact of projects. He also encouraged engagement with farmers, traders, women, youths, traditional and religious leaders, persons with disabilities and other groups.Buni highlighted his administration’s achievements, including over 500 kilometres of roads and education programmes benefiting more than 448,000 students, before declaring the summit open.
