From Femi Mustapha, in Kaduna

Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command have arrested six suspected kidnappers and dismantled a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Dogon Pako Village, Ikara Local Government Area.

According to a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the breakthrough followed a clearance operation on August 11, 2026, after the Command received credible information from a kidnapped victim who escaped from captivity and from members of the public.

The statement said the victim reported to the police and provided a detailed description of the house of Ja’e Samalu, a 65-year-old male from Dogon Pako Village.

“Upon receipt of the information, the Divisional Police Officer, Ikara Division, quickly mobilized a team of police officers in collaboration with members of the Vigilante Service to the location,” the statement said.

During the raid, the suspects arrested include Ja’e Samalu, 65; Abdul-Aziz Musa, also known as “Kire,” 35; Jafar Isah, 25; Yunusa Musa, 22; Shu’aibu Musa, 20; and Rakiya Samalu, 50, who is believed to be the mother of the suspects and the caretaker of the captive.

DSP Hassan stated that the suspects are currently in police custody and that investigations are ongoing to determine their individual roles and to apprehend other members of the criminal network.

The Commissioner of Police for Kaduna State, CP Muhammad, PSC, mni, commended the officers and the members of the public whose prompt information led to the success of the operation.

He urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious persons, movements, or activities in their communities to the nearest police station.

The Commissioner further warned residents to be cautious of criminal elements who may use residential buildings as hideouts or holding facilities for kidnapped victims.

“He stressed that community vigilance and timely information sharing remain critical to preventing and dismantling kidnapping networks,” DSP Hassan stated in the release.
