The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Friday commenced a two-day visit to Taraba State with activities marking his 58th birthday.
On arrival in Jalingo, Prof. Yilwatda commissioned the newly completed APC State Secretariat and the ALGON House.
He later flagged off a free medical outreach across the three senatorial districts in partnership with the Taraba State Government.
Speaking after the events, Prof. Yilwatda said he was received by a huge and enthusiastic crowd from the airport to the Government House, where he was hosted by Governor Agbu Kefas.
“The warmth, love and hospitality of the people of Taraba have left a lasting impression on me. I am particularly grateful to the Governor for partnering with us to provide medical support across the three senatorial districts,” he expressed.
The APC Chairman said the party’s mission in Taraba goes beyond politics.
“We are not only here to canvass for votes; we are here to touch lives. We are here to restore hope to poor families and to help revive dreams that have been interrupted by medical challenges.
“This is the human face of the APC, a party that recognises the people at the grassroots and believes that politics must ultimately be about the welfare of the people. Through our interventions, we have shared grants and equipment worth over a billion naira. In our party, for every vote we seek, we must also seek the wellbeing and good health of the people,” he said.
Prof. Yilwatda commended Governor Kefas for embracing the APC and for partnering with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
He noted that federal presence was becoming visible across Taraba through roads and other projects aimed at stimulating commerce, connectivity and social cohesion.
“I believe the President’s vision of building a $1 trillion economy will open even greater opportunities for states like Taraba. I look forward to Taraba benefiting from these transformative projects and seeing its farmers and young people connected to new opportunities. Truly, this is the best birthday I have ever had,” he stated.
Responding, Governor Kefas welcomed the APC National Chairman and assured him that Taraba is an APC state and will massively vote for President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
