The Taraba state government, on Wednesday, debunked claims going round that it has made the ongoing electronic registration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) compulsory for workers at the state’s sanitation agency to sustain their jobs.
The state chairman, Taraba State Environmental and Sanitation Agency Hon. Iliya Kefa disclosed this development while speaking with journalists in Jalingo Taraba state capital, stating that the people quoted him out of contest.
Hon. Iliaya while debunking the claims that the agency had made the APC e-registration compulsory for the workers said that he brought the sanitation workers across the sixteen local government areas of the state to inform them of latest developments in the agency.
“Everybody in the state is aware that over years i was working here as a coordinator of the Operation Keep Taraba Clean, there was no formal appointment from the office of the governor.
“The Taraba state governor Dr. Agbu Kefas last week approved my appointment as the chairman of the Taraba State Environmental Sanitation Agency (TSESA) it was from that day that this new name was changed from Operation Keep Taraba State Clean to Taraba State Environmental Sanitation Agency (TSESA).
“These are the new innovations I gathered the workers to inform them about, I also used the opportunity to re-awaken their spirits to motivate them that whoever refuse to work will not be paid.
“I never for once threatened any worker that if he or she did not presents evidence of APC e-registration would be discharge from work, it is a lie against me and I never intend to do such a thing that I know is against the laws of the land.
