From Edirin Robinson, in Kaduna

The family of Sheikh Khalifa Sani Abdulkadir, a prominent leader of the Tijaniyya sect, Fityanul Islam, has made an appeal to security agencies following the scholar’s disappearance nearly a month ago.

Sheikh Khalifa, a respected figure across Kaduna State, vanished 25 days ago after traveling to Abuja to resolve a dispute involving his blocked bank account.

Since his departure, his phone has remained switched off, and his whereabouts are unknown.

The Sheikh’s wife, Hajiya Ramatu Khalifa Sani Abdulkadir, recounted the last time she saw her husband.

According to her, the Sheik had assured her he would return the same day after sorting out the issue.

”He knocked on my door in the morning. I told him I was praying. He gave me money for household expenses and said he was going to Abuja and, God willing, would return that same day,” she said.

Investigations by the family revealed that the scholar’s bank account was flagged due to a two million Naira transaction.

His son, Sunusi Khalifa Sani Abdulkadir, who accompanied his father to the capital, disclosed that they were initially directed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to settle the issue.

Sunusi added that his father was questioned regarding the funds, to which the scholar explained that the money was related to a spiritual request.

”He explained that someone had linked him to another man who asked for prayers concerning personal issues, and that he carried out what was requested,” Sunusi said.

The EFCC characterized the investigation as a military case and family members were informed that military personnel would step in to question the Sheikh.

However, following that interaction, communication ceased entirely, throwing the family into confusion and sadness.

”We are appealing to the authorities to either release him or at least disclose where he is being held. The silence is unbearable,” the family pleaded.
