From Femi Mustapha, in Kaduna

The Kauru Local Government Community Development Associations (CDAs) Forum has strongly condemned the attack that took place on Friday, October 31, 2025, in the Damakasuwa community, located in the Chawai Chiefdom of Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

This tragic incident resulted in the deaths of seven individuals and injuries to one, prompting widespread concern and outrage within the community.

The forum expressed dismay that the attack occurred despite the presence of security agencies, including the military and Mobile Police (MOPOL), in the area.

This has raised serious questions regarding the effectiveness of current security measures and the necessity for a more robust response to such threats.

The forum is calling for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack and insists that those responsible be held accountable and brought to justice.

The Kauru Local Government CDAs Forum extended its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The attack has instilled fear and panic among residents, and the forum urged everyone to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended.

Furthermore, the forum appealed to the Kaduna State Government and security operatives to intensify patrols and surveillance to prevent further attacks. They also called on the government to take concrete steps to address the root causes of insecurity in their area, including poverty, unemployment, and lack of access to basic amenities.

The people of Kauru Local Government Area are known for their peaceful coexistence, and it is disheartening to see their communities disrupted by these senseless acts of violence.

The forum urged the residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities for prompt action. They believe that together, they can build a safer and more prosperous community for all.

The forum prayed for peace and stability in their local government area and throughout Kaduna State.

The condemnation of the Damakasuwa attack by the Kauru Local Government CDAs Forum highlights the community’s commitment to peace and stability.

Their call for action and cooperation with security agencies marks a positive step toward ensuring the safety and security of the community.

As Dr. Billy Ishaya Laah, Chairman of the Kauru Local Government CDAs Forum, stated, “Together, we can build a safer and more prosperous community for all.”
