Five teenagers abducted in Borno rescued by Police in Adamawa

Five teenagers suspected to have been abducted from Maiduguri, Borno state are said to have been rescued by Police in Adamawa state.

Spokesman of the Adamawa sSate Police Command, S.P Suleiman Nguroje gave the hint in a press statement issued in Yola at the weekend.
Nguroje said that Police detectives attached to Mubi Area Command acting on an intelligence intercepted the five teenagers wandering about in Mubi town.
According to the statement, preliminary investigation by the police interrogators have shown that on the 13th September, 2025, after the rescued victims were taken into police custody for inquiries, they confessed to have been unlawfully brought to Mubi by one Aliga Suleiman of Sabon layi, Gwange area in Maiduguri but now at large.
“The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued five children suspected to have been abducted and unlawfully brought from Maiduguri, Borno State, to Adamawa.
“On the 13th September, 2025, the Area Commander in Mubi, ACP Marcos Mancha acting on timely and credible information, led his surveillance team and intercepted five male children found wandering the streets of Mubi town.
“The rescued children were identified as Adamu Musa, 16 years, Suleiman Idris, 10 years, Suleiman Mohammed, 11 years,
Dauda Yahaya, 11 years and Mohammed Alhassan, 11 years, all residents of Gwange, in Maiduguri, Borno State.
“Investigation conducted so far revealed that the victims were unlawfully taken from Maiduguri by one Aliga Suleiman of Sabon Layi, Gwange, Maiduguri, who is currently at large. Effort is ongoing to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice”, the statement said.
However, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the Area Commander and his team for the successful rescue directing the State Criminal Investigation Department,SCID to take over the case and ensure the arrest of the suspect(s) and possible reunion of the victims with their parents.
“The CP reassured members of the public of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state’, the statement said.
