A former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Danji Usman, popularly known as Danji SS, has defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement on Friday addressed to his supporters across Taraba State, and in the diaspora, Danji expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he received after leaving the APC.
According to Danji, the decision to join the ADC was taken after careful consideration, due diligence, and wide consultations. He described the ADC as a platform that will serve as the vehicle for his engagement in the democratic process leading into the 2026/2027 elections.
Danji called on his supporters, sympathizers, and lovers of good governance to rally behind the ADC. He emphasized the need to join hands to liberate the downtrodden, lift the people from poverty, and bring succor to communities in need.
The former APC chieftain thanked his supporters for their steadfast support and assured them that together, they will make history. He expressed his commitment to good governance and pledged to work tirelessly to rescue the people of Taraba from the grip of bad governance.
“Dear supporters of the great Danji SS Movement in Southern Taraba, across our beloved Taraba State, and in the diaspora,
“I want to begin by expressing my deepest gratitude for the love and solidarity you have shown since the day I stepped away from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Your overwhelming support is proof of the strength of our shared vision that this movement is genuine, resolute, and committed to rescuing the people of Taraba from the grip of bad governance.
“After careful consideration, due diligence, and wide consultations, I am pleased to announce that we will be charting a new course under the banner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This will serve as our platform as we actively engage in the democratic process leading into the 2026/2027 elections.
“I therefore call on all my supporters, sympathizers, and every lover of good governance to rally behind this movement. Let us join hands to liberate the downtrodden, lift our people from poverty, and bring succor to communities in need by standing firmly with the ADC in every way,” statement read.
