The Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and erstwhile Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara has been expelled by the Abia State chapter of the party.
Wabara was expelled by the PDP for openly endorsing Abia State Governor Alex Otti (a member of the Labour Party)
for a second term among other infractions.
The Chairman of PDP in Abia State, Mr Abraham Amah announced Wabara’s expulsion from Umuahia following the adoption of the report of a disciplinary committee set up by the party in the state to investigate his alleged anti-party conduct.
Amah explained that the investigative committee thoroughly reviewed Wabara’s earlier suspension before deciding to expel him from the party.
The expulsion of Wabara, he explained, was due to his (Wa bara’s) endorsement of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for a second term in office, which the PDP considered an act of disloyalty to the party
The party has, therefore, urged the PDP National body to nominate another person for the position of BoT Chairman.
Senator Wabara is however yet to react to the development.
