CP Muhammad Rabiu, who is the 45th Indigenous Commissioner of Police posted to the State urged residents and citizens of Kaduna to volunteer information for criminal hideouts and activities in the state revealing that, most of the arrests were based on intelligence from locals in the state.

He gave the breakdown of the arrested suspects as follows: “On February 10, 2025, officers from the Gadar Gayan Outpost based on credible intelligence, tracked down and arrested two suspects namely, Inusa Ibrahim (18) and Hamisu Musa (18), both of Kangimin Gobirawa Village who were caught making phone calls to suspected bandits, providing them with names of individuals targeted for kidnapping in their village.

“During the investigation, the suspects confessed to the crime and are currently in custody as further inquiries continue.”

He added that on 19th January 2025, acting on credible intelligence about some notorious criminal receivers, officers swiftly mobilized to Rigasa, where they arrested Ibrahim Nura, aka Danturawa, and Musa Abdullahi, aka Depot. During the operation, police recovered twelve motorcycles of various types and three tricycles from the suspects

“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to being criminal receivers, admitting that they collaborate with a network of thieves (Currently at large) who steal motorcycles and tricycles from innocent citizens. These stolen vehicles are then delivered to the suspects for sale. Investigations are ongoing to track down other members of the syndicate.”

Similarly, Mohammed said on 15th January 2025, acting on credible intelligence regarding the activities of a criminal syndicate that specialized in motorcycle theft, Officers from the Anti-Car Theft Section mobilized to Mando area, where they apprehended two suspects, identified as Ibrahim Abubakar and Surakatu Usman.

He disclosed that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in multiple motorcycle snatching incidents.

Their modus operandi involved attacking victims with a sledgehammer to render them unconscious or strangling them with a cable wire before fleeing with their motorcycles. Further investigations led to the arrest of their receiver, Yahya Muhammad, to who they took the motorcycles for sale. Three TVS motorcycles were recovered from the suspects.
